Things I can help with
- A fact on this site that is wrong, out of date or unclear. Tell me which page and what it says.
- Which of the six walks suits your trip, if the comparison and the reviews have not settled it between them.
- A meeting point that has moved, a walk that started somewhere else, a group that was much larger than you expected. Those things change quietly and I would rather hear it from you than find out a year later.
- Anything about walking the centre itself — the route, the cobbles, which squares are cold in February, what is worth the detour. I grew up here and guided here.
Things I cannot help with
I am an independent guide to other people’s walks, not a tour operator and not a guiding company. I cannot sell, reserve, hold, move or refund a place on any walk. I cannot change or cancel a booking made elsewhere either — that goes through the platform you booked with, using the confirmation they sent you, or through the operator named on it.
I also cannot book you onto a tip-based free walking tour. Those are not sold on the platform this site links to, they are reserved directly with whoever runs them, and this site has no part in that transaction. How the free walks actually work explains the mechanism without pretending I can arrange one.
And I cannot tell you what a specific walk will be doing on a specific date — how big the group will be, which guide you will get, or whether it runs in weather that has not happened yet. What booking ahead actually buys you is as close as I can get. For anything that has to be certain, and access needs above all, ask the operator through the platform before you travel.
Before you write
Four questions arrive most weeks and all four already have pages. Is there a free walking tour in Oslo: yes, and it is not sold here. How much should I tip the guide: less fraught than you think, and one walk includes tips outright. Which one is best: the ratings are closer together than they look. Is this one in English: one of the six is guided in German only, with an English title.
